Side Window Glazing - Occupant Ejection In rollover and side impact accidents, the tempered side window glass often completely shatters out into small glass pebbles, thus creating a large opening through which the occupant may be partially or completely ejected. In contrast, laminated safety glass... a sandwich of glass-plastic-glass... will stay intact and serve as a "life net" to keep occupants safely inside the vehicle. Side windows, rear hatch windows, and sunroofs all should be made of safer, stronger laminated glass that will stay intact in collisions and rollover accidents.
